Brendan Fosterin haastattelu. Vainion EM-voitto 1978 Prahassa painaa edelleen Fosterin mieltä:
Worst sporting moment: After I had won the Commonwealth Games 10,000m in 1978, I came back to the European Championships, and with 200m to go in the 10,000m, a Finnish runner came past me and I crumbled and ended up in fourth place. No one had ever heard of him and he had improved his personal best by over a minute in that race. He was caught cheating twice subsequently - once at the Olympics. At the time it was suspicious, but it was my biggest disappointment knowing I had been beaten by a person who did not believe in the purity of sporting endeavour.
